Richard was one of manager Bryan Hamilton’s loanee’s during the 1992/93 season that ended in the Blues’ first ever relegation, and he arrived at Springfield Park on 15th February 1992 from Illinois University. He made his Latics League debut on 16th February 1992 against Huddersfield Town. Richard scored the winning goal as the Terriers were beaten 1-0.
His second, and last appearance for the club was against Fulham at Craven Cottage, four days later, a game that resulted in a 0-1 defeat.
