Brendan was signed on a non contract basis by Kenny Swain at the start of season 1994/95 He made his Latics League debut on 30th August 1994 against Chesterfield at Springfield Park. The Blues were beaten 2-3 and after the next game, a 1-2 defeat against Barnet also at home he never turned out for the club again. On leaving the club he coached at junior level before landing the Waterford United managers job.
