He made his League debut the day after signing against Brentford at the JJB Stadium. The game which also saw Ian Nolan, Peter Kennedy, Jason De Vos and Gabor Bukran make their debuts resulted in a 1-1 draw.
He was only to make three League appearances, without scoring, before finding himself confined to the substitutes bench. His final appearance for Latics was on 25th August 2001 in the home League fixture against Bristol City, which the Blues lost 1-2. He returned to his parent club on 7th November 2001 after picking up an injury five weeks previously. His return to Rangers enabled Latics to complete the loan signing of Jeff Kenna from Blackburn Rovers. He retired from the game after returning to Scotland, although he did have a brief spell at Pogon Szczecin Nowa in 2006.
Dariusz was a member of the Scottish First Division Championship winners in 1998 (Dundee United). He is also the proud holder of an Olympic Silver Medal after Poland were beaten 3-2 by Spain in the final of the football tournament of the Summer Olympics of 2002 which were held in Barcelona.
