Carl was a reserve team regular when he made his Latics League debut on 5th March 1994 against Scarborough. He was by far the best Latics player on display at the McCain Stadium on the day, a fact borne out when you consider he was the Blues’ goal scorer in an abject 1-4 defeat.
However, despite his two season stint at Springfield Park he was to make just 2 more substitute appearances before being released at the end of season 1994/95. He has been a member of the Wigan Athletic Grand Masters Team in the past.
