Shaun had spent many months on the Government’s YTS Scheme for many months before making his Latics League debut at Springfield Park on 16th May 1989 against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the last day of the 1988/89 League campaign, a game that resulted in a 1-1 draw.
Although Shaun was to stay at the club in a professional capacity for two years he only made 2+1 League appearances for the club without scoring before being released at the end of the 1989/90 season.
