Barry, a Hindley lad, progressed through the club’s youth set up after being spotted playing for Junior Latics and was a stalwart of the Latics reserve team when he made his only Latics League appearance as a substitute on 19th October 1991. The game was a cracker, a 3-3 draw against Birmingham City at St Andrews. Barry however, failed to make the grade at Springfield Park and was released at the end of the 1991/92 season.
He signed for Northwich Victoria and made just six appearances and scored once for the Vics before finishing his career at Daisy Hill.
