Ted Buckle began his playing career with Manchester United in 1945-46, but after only gaining 20 appearances over a number of seasons he signed for Everton in 1949.
Ted made a total of 107 appearances on the wing at Goodison Park (97 league ) and notched 33 goals (31 league).
In 1955 he signed for Exeter City and in 1957 he moved back north and signed to play for the Latics.
Upon leaving Latics he had a spell at Prestatyn as player-manager, before retiring from the game.
